Growing Part 121 Airline has an opening for a ground school trainer.

Job Description

Provides technical instruction, support, and facilitation for ground training courses for Pilots and Flight Followers, as well as other ground training courses

Ensures that all training is conducted in accordance with company policies and directives and that they comply with the appropriate government and regulatory agencies

Develops and maintains lesson plans, instructor guides, curriculum, and training aids for classroom-based training

Facilitates training in subject areas such as (but not limited to): Boeing 737 systems, CRM, Fatigue, Basic Indoctrination (general pilot subjects & company procedures), Security, Weight & Balance, Aircraft Loading, and Hazmat, in a classroom setting

Performs administrative duties to include (but are not limited to): 1) Developing, administering and grading exams; 2) producing and maintaining accurate and complete rosters and training records

Provides other technical support by assisting in creation of new material and edits/revision of existing technical information in all Flight Operations-related Company Manuals

Conducts continual self-analysis of training methods and procedures and recommends improvements that results in a professional, high quality and cost-effective training program

Other related duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent

10 years flight operations experience (preferably Part 121)

Able to learn/understand complex technical subjects (e.g. aircraft systems on a Boeing 737-200, Flight Crew navigation and radio communications in the FAA Air Traffic Control system, etc.)

Strong written and oral communications skills and able to maintain a disciplined attitude toward the highest training standards and company requirements

Proven public speaking ability and effectiveness in conducting classroom instruction

Creative and able to create a positive learning environment for students with an ability to clearly and effectively communicate complex technical subjects

Detail-oriented (with an attention to accuracy) and commitment to the highest quality of presentation (verbal and written; professionalism in dress, grooming, and professional presence)

Computer literacy in Word and PowerPoint (Excel is a plus); with knowledge of and comfort with computer systems

Able to work effectively in teams, work groups, and independently

Strong problem-solving skills

Ability to maintain composure under pressure

Must have a valid U.S. driver’s license

Must meet the requirements to qualify for an airport SIDA/AOA badge

Preferred Qualifications

Boeing 737-200 technical knowledge and experience or type rating

Prior experience as a Part 121 Flight Deck Crew Ground Instructor

Experience in curriculum design for adult learning

College Degree
