Bilingual Korean-English Speaking Front Staff/Medical Assistant Needed

Title: Medical Assistant

Location: Gastroenterology Solo Medical Practice in Honolulu (Hale Pawaa Building)

Pay: $16-$19 per hour (negotiable with experience)

Starting Pay with Medical, Dental, and Vision Benefits and 401K after probationary period w/ full-time status

Shift: Full-Time (Monday-Friday 7:30am-4:30pm with 1 hour lunch) and Part-Time Available

SUMMARY

We are currently seeking a bilingual Medical Assistant who is fluent in both Korean and English. Candidate must value customer service and have great organization and interpersonal skills. Candidate must be responsible, punctual, and have regular attendance. Candidate must know how to prioritize tasks and have good time management skills.

JOB DUTIES

Works alongside physician and is crossed-trained to perform administrative and clinical duties. These duties may include but are not limited to:

Administrative Duties

Assist front office when needed (phone calls, greet and check-in patients, accept co-pays)

Complete tasks and return patient calls in a timely manner

Schedule and confirm procedures, office appointments, and referrals

Update patient medical records

Code and fill out prior authorization forms

Arrange for laboratory services

Clinical Duties

Accurate patient intake of past and current medical history and vitals

Assist and prepare patients for examinations

Perform orders for labs, pharmacy, imaging

Provide proper patient education and treatment instructions in a friendly manner

Authorize prescription refills as directed

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Experience in healthcare field is preferred but not required

Must be willing to learn and take direction


Knowledge & Skills

Bi-lingual Korean-English proficient

Must be computer proficient

Knowledge of computer preferred as practice uses EHR

Exceptional customer service and phone etiquette

Ability to maintain effective and organized systems to ensure timelypatient flow

Education

High school diploma; some college preferred

Completion of a medical assistant program or comparable is highly recommended, though not required
