Standby Maintenance Job Description:

Promotes the community and the rental of apartments through the proper and timely maintenance of the interior of buildings, including apartments, mechanical rooms and common areas.

Repairing of reported items which need service in both apartments and common areas, as well as preventive maintenance as needed.

Through a willingness to work as a team member, the Maintenance person assists the Manager as needed and relates to residents in a polite and professional manner.

Standby Maintenance Job Requirements:

Due to the nature of our business and the resulting organizational structure, it is essential that all employees be willing and able to perform functions in a number of different areas.

Must have a valid driver's license

Reliable transportation

Able to effectively and professionally communicate both orally and in writing

Must be available to work evenings and weekends

General maintenance knowledge

HVAC Certification or experience is preferred but willing to train.

Basic skills in carpentry, plumbing, electricity, appliance troubleshooting and repair

Must have own personal tools and have the ability and skills to properly use those tools in addition to company provided tools (hand-held and power tools) while following all safety guidelines

Customer service oriented

Ability to meet physical requirements

STANDBY MAINTENANCE: In addition, must live on site following the requirements for all residents living at a community regarding occupancy guidelines, criminal history, and pets.

Standby maintenance personnel are required to live at the community and are provided an apartment apart from their wages.
