DescriptionJoin a team of highly skilled, motivated professionals as an Accounts Payable (A/P) Clerk through this opportunity offered by Accountemps. The candidate's responsibilities in this role include attending to the general needs of the AP/Finance Department, while working closely and reporting to the Accounting Manager. Matching and batching code, resolving A/P issues, processing expense reports, updating and reconciling sub-ledger to G/L and processing checks will be the main focus points in this role. This Accounts Payable Clerk opportunity will be located in the New Haven, Connecticut area and will be a long-term temporary-to-full-time position.Key responsibilitiesHandle daily department mail by opening, sorting, and distributing it

Execute daily processes and controls accurately and in a timely manner; ensuring compliance with company policies

Sort, log, scan, and file invoices, checks, and other documents

Fullfill full-cycle A/P

Handle the administrative needs of the AP/Finance Department

Facilitate internal and external audits as needed

Handle the customer service needs of internal business partners

Validate, record and send checks, including expediting special handling

Carry out additional projects as required

RequirementsAA or BS/BA degree in Accounting, Business or similar preferred

Proficient with spreadsheets and databases

Prior experience in an A/P role preferred

Comprehensive knowledge of Accounts Payable (AP)

High attention to detail

Strong communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills, especially with both technical and financial backgrounds
