Blue Federal Credit Union is hiring a Title and Mortgage Lien Manager to oversee the day-to-day Title & Mortgage Lien Department. A hands-on manager with a high level of knowledge of all aspects of collateral securitization and mortgage lien processing. A driver of improvements using data driven analysis to expand processes, ensure accuracy, quality and regulation adherence.

This position sits amongst a high performing management team charged with ensuring day-to-day operations and support of member needs. Collaboration with other areas to ensure service-level-agreements (SLA’s) are meeting the needs of other internal departments as well as the ever-expanding expectations of our membership.

As Title & Mortgage Lien Manager your responsibilities will include:

Management Responsibilities:

  • Manage direct reports to maximize productivity, efficiency, and the potential of the human assets of the credit union, including hiring, directing job assignments, monitoring staff performance, coaching, counseling, training, assuring compliance with regulatory requirements, registration requirements in all 50 states and credit union mission, values, policies and work rules.
  • Appraise performance, promotion, and termination, as appropriate.
  • Contributes to process improvement through innovation within their areas of responsibility.
  • Oversees the organizational charge for efficient, accurate and compliant processing of member title and lien transactions.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the day-to day management of Title Services operations setting daily/weekly goals for the team to ensure the proper handling of all title registrations/lien releases, QC, title curative and all client inquiries/escalations are successfully resolved while meeting all member Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
  • Continuously monitor daily volume (WIP) to ensure registrations/lien releases are distributed properly among team members to operate the team at maximum efficiency to meet SLA’s and member expectations.
  • Makes staff level recommendations to the VP of Operations to address with Leadership and HR
  • Oversee accurate processing, information, retention and record keeping.
  • Monthly and Daily reporting on Volume and Key Performance Indicators (KPI).
  • Manages and oversees multi-state lien perfection rules/regulations and ensures the CU is processing in the most efficient manner.
  • Responsible for vendor management of third-party providers including training, reporting, performance management, and invoice approval.
  • Recommend and Implements new products and services.
  • Monitors and troubleshoots third party dealers and vendors performing registrations for our members.
  • Monitors and maintains compliance with regulatory changes.
  • Assists in researching errors and problems by providing potential resolutions.
  • Act as the liaison for all audit requests for the Title Services team for both internal and external auditors.
  • Responsible for managing within approved budget for areas of responsibility.
  • Ensures department staff adhere to all operating policies and procedures and external regulatory requirements; monitors adherence and takes any corrective action necessary.
  • Determines work procedures, prepares work schedules and expedites workflow.
  • Keeps staff informed of pertinent policies and procedures; creates an atmosphere in which upward communication from employees is encouraged.
  • Reviews employee performance at the end of the introductory period and on a regularly scheduled basis thereafter.
  • Administers staff policies and procedures as established by credit union policy.

A strong candidate for this role has:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or another industry-related field required.
  • At least 5 years of industry-related experience including two years in leadership role required.
  • Experience within the real estate industry and/or vendor management service company preferred. ALTA best practices experience preferred. Experience with mortgage documents and title clearance processes
