This position is responsible for the design, development, modification, and implementation of software applications and components utilizing established development tools, guidelines and conventions. Works directly with end users to gather the requirements needed to generate the specifications in order to develop the applications and components. Installs and supports software applications and components as needed.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Analyzes business systems specifications and develops logic flowcharts and test plans
  • Codes programs, prepares test data, and tests and debugs programs
  • Revises and updates programs as required
  • Provides necessary documentation for the computer operations department
  • System-wide responsibility on complex components or complex projects
  • Provides direction for entire project or a project team
  • Key Contributor whose work is critical to project success
  • Influences at end user and management level
  • May be called upon to solve highly technical, complex problems or consult for other projects
  • Creates and delivers data-driven reports as needed
  • Consults with colleagues concerning maintenance and performance of software systems.
  • Investigates and develops skills in new technologies

Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Information Systems
  • Minimum 4 - 5 years experience in Java, Oracle, and SQL
  • Recent experience with systems conversions to new technologies
  • Recent working experience with Cobol conversions a plus
  • Understanding of retail order entry and order fulfillment processes based on retail SKUs/UPCs a plus
  • Assist with transfer of knowledge of skills
  • Must be well-organized, efficient, and detail-oriented
  • Able to prioritize and provide timely resolution to issues and requests
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently and as a member of a team
  • Must possess excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills
  • Ability to work successfully with minimal supervision
  • Provides input to project-related decisions
  • On-call rotation required
  • Occasional travel may be required as needed
