Purpose of the roleLead member of the web portal team where the developer helps implement and guide projects while collaborating with the web portal team members and the operations team. The ideal candidate is a quick learner who can operate autonomously and understand the existing platform to begin contributing with development and testing tasks. This role requires a high attention to detail and works in a structured, systemized approach. As a multi skilled developer, the team member will use the knowledge of the existing platform to identify potential issues and implement best practices in all tasks. This also includes ensuring the platform is performing as expected and minimizing any future issues with a high regard to quality in all efforts.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities
  • Complete assigned projects and tasks using standardized processes within the outlined timeline and requirements
  • Maintain web applications, data groups, and support existing systems including a third-party web portal framework software
  • Complete tasks using strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high attention to detail
  • Ability to learn new technologies and adopt new tools
  • Work in Agile/scrum environment
  • Excellent team player
  • Communicate and resolve support work orders in a timely manner while documenting work for future reference
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision in a very dynamic and timeline sensitive environment
  • Strike a balance between functional and aesthetic design
  • Ensure web design is optimized for mobile devices
  • Build reusable code
  • Optimize web pages for maximum speed and scalability
  • Maintaining brand consistency throughout design

Knowledge, skills, and attributes

Required
  • Java
  • Microsoft SQL Server
  • C# / .NET
  • Proficiency with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and jQuery
  • Understanding of server-side CSS
  • Experience with graphic design applications such as Adobe Illustrator
  • Experience with responsive and adaptive design
