The ServiceNow Developer role plays a vital function in ensuring the day-to-day ServiceNow development support for the ORNL team.

U.S. Citizenship is required. The position requires eligibility to obtain a DOE security clearance. Individuals in this role should have a firm understanding and education of typical technical developer practices as listed out below and a proficiency in developing applications on the ServiceNow platform.

Responsibilities include:
  • A majority of the time will be spent on developing Apps on the ServiceNow platform.
  • Configuration, Transform Mapping and many other unique areas of ServiceNow Platform functionality
  • Complete data manipulation, data loads, and reporting in support of internal and external ServiceNow maintenance
  • Participate in code deployments and scheduled releases
  • Meet and exceed client contract defined Service Level Agreements in support of their ServiceNow platform
  • Own response and communication back to customers for raised tickets and inquiries through the ticketing system, emails, and phone calls.
  • Install and configure software and hardware
  • Upgrade systems with new releases and models
  • Develop expertise to train staff on new technologies
  • Build an internal wiki with technical documentation, manuals and IT policies
  • Work with other technical staff in meeting the needs of customers

Requirements:
  • Experience working within the ServiceNow platform.
  • Experience developing Apps on a ServiceNow platform.
  • Knowledge of system security (e.g. intrusion detection systems) and data backup/recovery
  • Familiarity with various operating systems and platform
  • Resourcefulness, problem-solving aptitude, and self-motivation
  • Excellent communication skills and professionalism dealing with both internal and external entities
  • BSc/Ba in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related discipline; professional ServiceNow certification is a plus
