We are seeking a Staff Accountant for their office in Denver, CO, to maintain the corporate accounting records for the company.
This position will be responsible for all financial statement preparation, accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliation, and maintaining the General Ledger, in addition to other office related administrative duties, including payroll, Human Resources, insurance and benefits administration.
Reporting directly to the CEO and CFO, this position will work closely with other managers and leads throughout the organization.
Job Duties and Responsibilities :
Perform and maintain all general accounting functions using QuickBooks and Inventory software
Ability to use various sources to support accounting responsibilities which include analysis, verifications, allocations, reconciliations and / or discrepancy resolution
Work with other departments to improve various processes which improve and support the organization and General Ledger accuracy
Build and maintain spreadsheets as necessary to standardize the processes and functions of the department
Responsible for cash management, daily cash reconciliations and bank reconciliations
Manage vendor payments and cash receipts
Maintain all balance sheet reconciliations
Prepare necessary financials for annual audit
Track, build and maintain accurate inventory records and assist with monthly audit
Post invoices, code purchases, and manage company purchasing
Process payroll entries, taxes, and accruals
Requirements :
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a corporate accounting environment
Bachelors degree in Accounting or related field
Experience working with QuickBooks required
Cost accounting experience is a plus
Ability to handle multiple projects and complete assigned tasks
Must be and remain compliant with any and all legal or company regulations for working in the cannabis industry
Strong technical accounting knowledge, including an understanding of GAAP, tax requirements, and general auditing procedures
