Sausage Maker Apprentice - Full Time, M-F, Day Shift

Looking for a steady and strong individual to complete a 7-person team producing sausage items for retail sale and foodservice. This is a trade with a rich history. The sausage maker apprentice works as part of a team grinding meat into sausage, stuffing sausage into links, forming sausage into patties, boxing fresh sausage and preparing sausage links to be smoked. This is a full- time position, year-round, no layoffs, no weekends, paid vacation and paid holidays.

Work shift begins at 7am, half hour lunch, usually done by 4pm, sometimes work later in the busy summer months. Position starts at $15.00/hour and increases to $15.50/hr after 90 day probationary period. During pandemic, employees earn an extra $2.00/hour in appreciation for wearing face masks and complying with preventative procedures including temperature screening. Pay raises depend upon ability to contribute as a team member. The successful applicant is clean, has good eyesight, cares about the quality of his or her work, and can routinely lift 60 pounds at shoulder height.
