Responsible for assisting in the preparation, distribution, and accounting of employee payroll.Serves as a liaison to employees and third party payroll vendors to ensure payroll processing accurately reflects company specific pay policies. Audits employee pay records and reconciles totals by departmental cost center, location, etc. Participates in payroll system upgrades and implementations. Works directly with employees to resolve outstanding payroll inquiries. Ensures FLSA status is correctly captured in the system per employee. Interprets pay policies, e.g. vacation, LOA, disability, workers compensation, governmental regulations, withholding exemptions, etc. and ensures amounts/deductions are calculated and applied to various accounts correctly. Ensures company compliance with federal and state payroll standards. In house payroll expert, staying current with changes in the law. May assist with audits such as internal, state, federal, etc. for correctly classifying and paying employees. May prepare tax reports and related documentation. Documents payroll processes and procedures. May train other payroll staff. May be back up to those who perform specialized tasks or activities.Job duties are varied and complex utilizing independent judgment. Researches and interprets federal and state regulatory requirements and resolves tax, withholding, and reconciliation issues for payroll and tax processing.Ability to interpret, communicate, and execute changes to payroll system as needed. Stays current on changing payroll/tax legislation, while keeping the team and payroll manager informed.Job ResponsibilitiesPerforms tasks to establish and maintain employee and tax records. Maintains reconciliation and daily deposits submitted to ADP through Oracle payroll system.Prepare and manage quarterly, and annual tax filings submitted through interface with ADP.Performs audit to employee payslip to ensure adherence to policy and compliance with federal/state/ and local regulations.Audit of monthly/annual tax changes implemented by third party vendor to ensure all system updates are integrated and calculations are confirmed and documented on internal tracking.Receives and responds timely to e-mail inquiries within expected turnaround time implemented by the organization.Assists as a liaison between Payroll, HRIS, and 3rd party payroll provider to ensure accurate documentation of system functions and its capabilities. Prepare documentation supporting potential system modifications or changes and analyze the use of existing systems to identify problems and determine resolutions. Ensure accurate data flow between systems; recommend modifications to application design or current procedures to maximize advantages of existing resources or processes.Responsible for accurate set up and system maintenance of SUI rates, registration of new accounts when required and verification of SUI rates by work location.Works directly with federal/state/local agencies to resolve tax notices and coordinate communications with ADP.Coordinates efforts between payroll, human resources, finance, benefits, tax and other departments to ensure proper flow and maintenance of employee data. Collaborates with accounting to ensure the accuracy of payroll codes and general ledger account mapping in relationship to the payroll interface uploaded each pay period.Prepares and reconciles reports for finance, and other lines of business for tax for remittance of payroll tax wires, 401k wires, and 3rd party vendor payments. Provides data for auditors and local, state or federal agencies as needed.Provide recommendations for continuous process improvement.Required Qualifications Associate Degree in Business Administration/Finance or equivalent level of knowledge in a relevant field.5 year s payroll tax experience performing all functions of payroll and tax.Excellent customer service skills with an ability to effectively handle and resolve employee inquiries and issues.Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion.Excellent problem solving/judgment skills, and high level of attention to detail and accuracy.Strong organizational skills, and the ability to work under pressure and meet required deadlines.Excellent skills using MS Word and Excel, PowerPoint.Preferred QualificationsAPA certification/coursesADP experienceOracle ExperienceJob: FinanceOrganization: OracleTitle: Payroll Analyst 3-FinLocation: United StatesRequisition ID: 20000WTR
