    Summary

    This position is located in Grand Teton National Park, in the Division of Facility Management.

    Responsibilities

    The incumbent provides technical advice and operational guidance to park management and staff regarding the administration of housing policies and management of the government furnished housing program. The advice and guidance encompasses a wide diversity of activities related to the construction, maintenance, repair, rehabilitation, and operation of all park housing units (owned or leased), the establishment and collection of rental rates from employees who occupy the housing, and the management of associated automated data systems. Grand Teton and the John D. Rockefeller, Jr. Memorial Parkway have a government-furnished housing program which consists of 232 housing units for both required and permitted occupants in a widely dispersed national park environment. The incumbent reports to the Chief of Facility Management and also performs a wide variety of necessary budgetary, accounting, and other administrative duties that are central to the housing management program. The position exercises full supervisory responsibility for one Administrative Assistant.

    Duties at the GS-9 level will be developmental in nature with less responsibility for developing policy or guidance.

    • You will be required to wear a uniform and comply with the National Park Service uniform standards. A uniform allowance will be provided.
    • Driver's License: must submit (in State sealed envelope directly from the State authorities), at your own expense, all certified driving records from all States that disclose all valid driver's licenses, whether current or past, possessed by you.
    • U.S. Citizenship required. Meet Selective Service Registration Act requirement for males.
    • Appointment subject to background investigation and favorable adjudication.
    • Selectee will be required to participate in the Direct Deposit Electronics Funds Transfer Program.

    Qualifications

    Credit will be given for all appropriate qualifying experience.     EXPERIENCE: At least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-9 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). This experience includes activities such as: use knowledge of construction, maintenance, and repairs to monitor and report on the condition of housing or other facility units; assist in managing a budget to account for income and expenditures, and analyze spending to determine trends; implement housing policies to ensure legal compliance and efficient use of housing facilities; handle difficult or unhappy tenants; and provide input for the development of housing plans, directives, and other administrative guides. You must include hours per week worked.

    -OR-EDUCATION: Successful completion of at least a master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education, or LL.B. or J.D., that is related and demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for this position. If the number of credit hours cannot be obtained from the school attended, one year of full-time graduate education is considered to be 18 semester hours (or 27 quarter hours). You must submit transcripts.

    Successful completion of a combination of education and experience as described above. You must include transcripts.
