The Talent Acquisition Specialist will support strategic objectives through the development, management, and execution of sourcing, advertising, and screening strategies to develop a pool of candidates for the organization’s immediate and long-term hiring objectives. Responsible for developing and managing a portfolio of channels to attract talent, delivering high-touch service for passive and active candidates. Serves as a consultant and partner with management on talent acquisition-related issues, ensuring that talent acquisition strategies are aligned with business needs and strategic workforce planning, and driving the Blue experience from recruitment through the onboarding process. This position will also focus on:

  • Develops, facilitates, and implements all phases of the recruitment process. Serve as a sourcing expert to include building, developing, researching, maintaining and managing a directory of effective resources and tools for strategic and targeted sourcing based on specialty and niche job boards, social media, associations, professional networking groups and events. Responsible for job postings (both internal and external sites) and manager training.
  • Develop and facilitate Blue’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion program including but not limited to utilizing creative, professional and ethical recruiting methods to help identify diverse, qualified, top-performing candidates for open positions. Ensures compliance with local, state and federal regulations and trends on diversity and inclusion and recruitment practices. Lead and facilitate Blue’s Diversity and Inclusion Task Force.
  • Reviews internal metrics regarding retirements and attrition. Looks for patterns within the data and prepares a recruitment strategy for high turnover months. Manages Gallup on-boarding and exit surveys, reviews and reports consistently, and provides feedback on data.
  • Screens applications of internal candidates and potential external candidates. Provides hiring manager with resumes of top candidates. Updates candidate’s status on recruiting systems. Completes background checks, pre-employment testing and assesses candidates; assists in interviews. Coordinate on-boarding process with the HR department to quickly assimilate new hires into the company.
  • Build, develop, maintain, and manage a leads list of contacts, internally and externally, to network with according to specialty and niche. Proactively source passive talent to ensure strong pools of candidates are presented for consideration for vacancies. Contact passive candidates and conduct preliminary conversations to build talent pipelines and relationships for future hiring needs.
  • Successfully leads the Interview Committee, including selecting and training of new committee members.
  • Organizes and holds job fairs for best candidate selection.
  • Promote employee referral programs to stimulate applicant flow.

Experience: Five years to eight years of similar or related experience, including preparatory experience.

Education/Certifications/Licenses: A college degree in Human Resources or Business Management. SHRM certification preferred.

Interpersonal Skills: A significant level of trust, credibility and diplomacy is required. In-depth dialogue, conversations and explanations with customers, direct and indirect reports and outside vendors can be of a sensitive and/or highly confidential nature. Communications may involve motivating, influencing, educating and/or advising others on matters of significance. Typically includes subject matter experts as well as first level to middle managers.

Other Skills: Strong MS Office skills to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. Demonstrated competencies with recruiting technologies and products.
