Parts Counter Person

Gap, PA

Talk with customers & Service Techs in person and on the phone to determine what part they need for their equipment (forklifts of any brand & other material handling equipment)

Identify the make/model number of the equipment in need of service

Ask questions and/or request photos of the part to make sure you have a clear understanding of what part is needed

Go to the Parts Manual and identify the correct part number

Research which vendor will have a new or aftermarket part available and assess pricing and shipping times

Order the part and correctly document all information in our EBMS software to ensure the correct part is billed to the correct work order

Receive, inventory, and organize shipments of parts

Work for a privately owned company where you are a valued teammate

Monday to Friday Schedule – no weekends required.

Sam’s Mechanical provides rentals, sales, and service of forklifts of any brand & other material handling equipment for companies in Lancaster and the surrounding counties. We are growing and looking to hire a Parts Counter Person to work with our customers & Service Techs to accurately identify and quickly order the parts needed to keep their equipment up and running.

Our Ideal Parts Counter Person

Experienced: Background working in the equipment, automotive, trucking, or similar industry. We are willing to provide training specific to working with parts from forklifts and related equipment.

Mechanical: Able to understand how equipment works and identify the needed part based on customer descriptions & photos.

Loves Numbers: We deal with a lot of numbers in this industry, and being able to track numbers accurately is key to success.

Detailed: Can manage a detailed multi-step process of collecting information, identifying part numbers, assessing availability of parts, placing orders, generating sales orders, communicating shipping dates, etc.

Team Player: Humble enough to admit mistakes. Drive to do a great job. Great people skills.

Relational: Able to build great rapport with customers, vendors and our crew. Must have good phone skills.

Calm: Things can get hectic and when a breakdown disrupts a customer’s workflow, they have a high sense of urgency. Being able to remain patient while providing them with service is a critical skill.

Flexible: Able to change activities to accommodate the needs of phone and walk-in customers. Does what it takes to get the customer’s equipment back up and running.

Investigative: Asks excellent questions to get to the heart of what the customer needs. Able to research and get the best possible price.

Computer Skills: Must be able to learn software, do research on the internet, and communicate via email.

$20-$24+ p/h Depending on Experience
