POSITION: Behavioral Specialist I or II

STATUS: Part Time; up to 25 hours / week (employee’s choice)

SCHEDULE / HOURS: Flexible to meet the needs of the caseload

LOCATION: Allegheny County (cases), South Side (office)

SALARY: $16 - $27 / hour / DOE

Citizen Care Inc., a subsidiary of Partners For Quality Inc., provides residential, day program, habilitation, supported employment opportunities and behavioral support services to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. We are a non-profit organization, accredited by the Council on Quality & Leadership. Citizen Care has locations throughout the West Hills and South Hills of Allegheny County.

A Behavioral Specialist II will be responsible for the overall implementation of the individualized behavioral plan. Provide supports and interventions which focus on positive behavioral strategies. Duties include, but are not limited to:

Implementing behavioral support plans that are individualized and comprehensive and utilize positive strategies to support the person receiving services

Developing methods of tracking effectiveness of behavior support plan

Monitoring and analyzing data and make changes when necessary based on data collection

Training of and consultation with person receiving services, family, friends and providers

Collaborating with the person’s interdisciplinary team, including participation in the person supported ISP meetings

Provide crisis intervention support, if applicable, per regulations

Development of individualized crisis plan, if applicable, per regulations

In addition to the above responsibilities a Behavioral Specialist I would also be responsible for the overall development and implementation of the person supported behavioral plan including:

Conducting Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBA)

Developing behavioral support plans that are individualized and comprehensive, which utilized positive strategies to support the participant

Development of individualized crisis plan

QUALIFICATIONS

1. Master’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or related human service field

2. Licensed preferred (LSW, LCSW, LBS, LPC, Psychologist)

3. Two years’ experience supporting people with intellectual / developmental disabilities

4. Two years’ experience in the mental health field preferred

5. Excellent communication and computer skills

6. Valid driver’s license

7. Use of personal vehicle required

8. Act 34 and (if applicable) FBI Clearances

WAGES

$16 - $27 / hour / DOE
