GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

The Foreman provides leadership and is responsible for the following: supervising, ensuring the safety of crew members, following OHSA guidelines, and productivity of crew members. Seeking applicant with strong people skills as a key participant in relationships with the company, other contractors, and the client, the foreman is the second management level and has a further role as a coordinating manager and client interface.

ESSENTIAL TASKS include the following but are not limited to:

Schedule with general superintendent all manpower required at their job location

Oversee crews working under their authority, which might include subcontractors.

Plans the day-to-day operations on assigned task and ensures that proper resources are in place for the timely completion of work, including labor, tools, equipment, and material.

Keeps daily logs as to time and personnel including time off on sites, deliveries, and changes in scope of work.

Attend job meetings and meet with professionals as necessary.

Review project and keep both project manager, general superintendent and office personnel updated.

Reviews all project documentation and plans to ensure that the work in the field is built to the most recent specifications and drawings to include preparing and completing punch lists.

Hold daily meetings with onsite personnel to train employees in safety matters, procedures, equipment operation, production goals, performance feedback, safety/schedule, hazards, and obtain feedback from employees

Maintain site records of visitors, accidents, delays affecting schedule, and unforeseen Condition.

Must be competent in operating heavy machines, transits, hand tools, and power tools.

Should be competent in understanding and setting grades and reading plans, blueprints and scope of work.

Address errors and complaints.

Coordinate and follow through on job site inspections with local authorities.

Adhere to all safety training requirements and be a leader in maintaining a safety-first attitude

Performs timesheets, equipment logs, inspection reports, updating project files, reporting equipment hours weekly or other related administrative or project-based duties as assigned.

Willingness to wear and enforce the proper and required PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) such as hard hat, steel toed boots, eye and hear protection and face shields and other PPE required for specific tasks. Must provide own safety-toed boots.

Thorough knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the work being performed.

Able to lift up to 80 lbs.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

 High School diploma or general education diploma (GED),

 Must have reliable transportation. Jobsites are located throughout Charleston, Berkeley, and Dorchester Counties.

 Minimum Three years roads operations, maintenance, or construction experience; supervisory experience required.

 Knowledge of safe and efficient use of equipment and tools to perform construction and maintenance tasks

 Follow all OSHA standards on the job and have full knowledge of them. Preferred OSHA 10 or 30 hour card.
