We are looking for an Industrial Equipment Field Service Technician for fast our growing company! Supporting our regional office in Columbia, SC, we are seeking a road warrior who can work alone, traveling 100% of the time Monday through Friday.

This role requires the ability to work autonomously, visiting customer locations on a daily basis – must be self-motivated

Major areas of responsibility will be installation, start-up, inspection, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and emergency service of industrial process equipment. (Pumps, Motors, VFDs, Plumbing, Mechanical and Electrical Systems, Piping, High Pressure Components, Industrial Controls, PLC Systems, etc.)

Assembly and installation of new equipment and systems at customer sites

This position requires extensive travel, a solid knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulics, pneumatic, electronics and experience in troubleshooting such systems

What You Bring to the Position (required or preferred):

High school or equivalent - required, Associate's degree or Bachelor's degree preferred

3 years minimum of experience in field or related area, 5 plus years preferred

Strong Knowledge and background in mechanical, plumbing, electrical and electronic systems

Familiar with mechanical and electrical equipment

Experience with bending and installation of rigid, IMC and EMT conduits

Ability to perform load calculations for circuits and calculate working circuit ampacities to determine proper conductor size

3 Phase WYE and Delta experience, and electrical panel building

Knowledge of PLC systems operation

Able to understand mechanical, electrical, and electronic/computer hardware functionality and use knowledge to troubleshoot equipment

Strong customer orientation – you need to be dependable and hands-on. Self-motivated, self-starter, sense of urgency, well organized and detail oriented

Hardworking, honest and ability to work effectively under pressure

Fluent in English with the ability to communicate effectively

Ability to travel extensively - driver’s license and excellent driving record required

Ability to pass stringent background screening and obtain military base clearances

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The work is considered medium-to-heavy in nature and involves walking, standing, stooping, crouching, crawling, climbing, balancing, lifting, digging, pushing or raising objects and also involves exerting between 20 and 50 pounds of force on a recurring basis and 50 to 100 pounds of force on an occasional basis
