SummaryThis position is located in the Certification, Accreditation, and Transit Security Branch, Physical Security Division, Office of Physical Security Programs,Countermeasures Directorate, Diplomatic Security Service, Bureau of Diplomatic Security.The incumbent serves as a Transit Security Specialist with responsibility for providing expert physical security advice , assistance, and coordination.ResponsibilitiesPlans, coordinates, and oversees the full range of Transit Security operations associated with the secure shipment of construction and general support materials where new building and major renovation projects are being carried out.Oversees the building and inspection of containers, installation of countermeasures and security devices, preparation and loading of containers, secure receipt of shipments, and secure storage of materials at receiving points and construction sites.Works closely with contractor officials and managers in ensuring that contractor services provided in support of Transit Security operations meet contract requirements.Evaluates the effectiveness and efficiency of current Transit Security operations, policies, methods, and practices and recommends improvements where appropriate.Reviews and responds to inquiries from Regional Security Officers and other security officers at overseas posts on a wide range of complex Transit Security issues and concerns.RequirementsConditions of EmploymentQualificationsApplicants must meet all the required qualification requirements, including education and any selective placement factors described below by the closing date of this announcement. If you are qualifying based on education OR if there are mandatory education requirements listed below, you MUST submit a copy of your college transcript with your application.Applicants must have 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level in the Federal service which provided the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties of the position.
