Staff AccountantBothell WA3 months contract to hire Maintains financial records and ensures that financial transactions are properly recorded. Ensures the accuracy of entries to ledger accounts and reconciles subsidiary ledger accounts to the general ledger. Assists in preparation of balance sheets, profit and loss statements and other financial reports. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. The role provides significant accounting and general ledger support to the Company’s accounting department. A successful candidate in this position applies accounting principles, which requires an understanding of both accounting theory and practice and does so with efficiency and accuracy.

Position Overview:
  • Prepare and post assigned journal entries
  • Reconcile and analyze assigned general ledger accounts
  • Ensure that the assigned day-to-day operations are carried out in accordance with established accounting principles, policies, and objectives
  • Within the limits of delegated responsibility, make day-to-day decisions concerning the accounting treatment of financial transactions
  • Apply principles of accounting to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports
  • Uphold existing accounting control procedures
  • Organize and research financial information for other departments as necessary
  • Assist with responses to audit requests
  • Assist with state and local tax compliance, licensing and registration compliance as requested
  • Assist with project setups in accounting system
  • Complete project and financial reports as assigned
  • Provide support for timesheet processing and backup payroll responsibilities (payroll experience preferred)
  • Fixed asset management and depreciation journal entries (prior Fixed Asset accounting preferred)
  • Additional duties as assigned

Qualifications:
  • 4-year bachelor’s degree in Accounting with minimum of

    3 years accounting experience
  • Must have experience in

    General Ledger, Excise Tax, and Payroll support
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure within limited timeframe
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects/deadlines
  • Very detail-oriented with exceptional level of accuracy and follow through – highly organized
  • High-level of computer skills including MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, Adobe Acrobat
  • Works well both within teams and independently with limited supervision
  • Excellent customer service skills and commitment to producing results
  • Experience with Deltek Vision
  • Experience working for a professional consulting services firm with project accounting experience
