Apex Systems has an immediate opening for a UX Designer to sit in either Tacoma, WA, or Falls Church, VA for the duration of a 4-month contract. Job Title: UX Designer Location: Tacoma, WA OR Falls Church, VA Overview: We are seeking a User Experience Designer driven by the desire to create meaningful work with a global impact. You aren't afraid to bring fresh ideas to the table, collaborate with other designers and developers, take initiative, and advocate for our end-users all while having a great time positively contributing to a high performing team. You maintain a user-centered mindset at all times and understand the importance of data to drive informative design and usability solutions. Responsibilities:

  • Use the design process to create user flows, wireframes, and prototypes that successfully merge stakeholder and end-user needs
  • Design and deliver high-fidelity wireframes optimized for a wide range of devices and interfaces
  • Work closely with the UX Manager/Senior Designer to create usability strategies, test plans, and report deliverables
  • Work closely with the Usability Lab Manager to conduct usability studies for a multitude of health-related products and services; analyze study data and identify trends that fuel report deliverables
  • Collaborate with other UX designers, developers, project managers, and stakeholders in an Agile scrum environment
  • Translate clients' product vision into tangible digital experiences by researching, conceiving, sketching, wire-framing, prototyping, and testing experiences
  • Make strategic design decisions related to core and new functions/features. Validate design decisions and concepts through user research, heuristic analysis, and user testing
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Centered Design/UX (or equivalent nomenclature) or UX design certification
  • 2 to 3+ years of UX design experience (in industry, freelance, etc.) Preference will be given to candidates who demonstrate experience designing complex solutions for complete digital environments regardless of cumulative years of experience
  • Experience planning and conducting user research, user testing, A/B testing, rapid prototyping, heuristic analysis, usability and accessibility concerns
  • Experience with mobile and progressive web apps
  • Expertise in Adobe XD and Adobe Suite products
  • 508 compliance and accessibility knowledge
  • Must have a valid driver's license as some local travel is required
  • Ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance is required
