This individual is expected to be passionate about their craft, comfortable in making decisions without direct supervision and to possess solid written and verbal communication skills.Essential Duties % of duties=100% Perform system design and architect solutions, Java development technical design specifications, create program logic and flow-charting, develop application security, write custom program code, complete detailed unit testing and debugging with full awareness of cost/benefit, risk and performance.Strong Retail systems experience including: point-of-sales, warehousing / distribution, loyalty programs, store replenishment, returns and credit processing, and merchandising systems Experience with mobile / wireless technologies in a retail environment Provides analysis of problems and recommends solutions on Retail applications Documentation, code review, change control and application deployment Participates in client interactions, possibly with more senior team members, to develop system solutions to business problems 24/7 Application support on Retail systems50%20%10%10%5%5%Total100% Experience, Education, Certifications - At least 10 years of professional software development experience
- At least 5 years of experience as a Java developer on Retail applications
- Bachelors or master’s in computer science or equivalent preferred
- Experience building and maintaining continuous delivery environments
- Experience with Agile software development methodologies, source control, and automated testing and deployment
- Experience deploying and managing cloud-hosted application services
- Experience with multiple Source/Version control systems and understanding of code merging concepts.
- Experience with ITIL framework and application of best industry practices
- Experience with industry development standards and their implementation
- Experience with Retail systems including point-of-sales, warehousing / distribution, loyalty programs, store replenishment, returns and credit processing, and merchandising systems
- Experience with mobile / wireless technologies in a retail environment
Competencies- IT Solutions Architecture and development of store retail systems and applications.
- Writes code and unit tests, works on API specs, automation, and conducting code reviews and testing. Identifies opportunities for adopting new security technologies to solve existing needs and future challenges.
- Explore and recommend solutions to the team that help our systems function in a scalable and cost-effective manner
- Be an advocate of the technology: good design and best practices.
- Implement end-to-end solutions from database to frontend with concise, efficient, testable code.
