job summary:The IT Security Administrator is responsible for using industry best practices to maintain companywide security with a focus on protecting data, software, and hardware assets. This position is also responsible for maintaining security policy documentation, as well as making recommendations to leadership on security best practices. location: Rochester, New Yorkjob type: Permanentsalary: $65,000 - 80,000 per yearwork hours: 8am to 5pmeducation: Bachelors responsibilities:
- Develops, implements policies, procedures and associated plans for security administration based on industry-standard best practices.
- Defines disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
- Reviews current security policies and provides suggestions to management for improvement.
- Uses industry-standard tools to identify threats and works to create steps to defend against them.
- Facilitates vulnerability testing and penetration testing across all network segments.
- Proactively monitors for information or data security breaches by performing routine audits.
- Manages the incident response program, mitigating risks and providing root cause analysis when an incident occurs.
- Provides technical analysis of vulnerabilities to administrators and assists in formulation of vulnerability mitigation plan.
- Delivers results of vulnerability testing to development teams, aiding in the creation of remediation plans.
- Conducts compliance audits against relevant industry and international regulation. Makes recommendations regarding compliance maintenance to the Infrastructure Manager.
