Requisition Number: 207291 This position is the technology leader and strategic liaison for the Dealer Operations business. Reporting to the SVP, Product and Engineering, the overall function of the role is to be the technology leader on point to ensure all parts of local and enterprise technology execution are delivered with high quality and positive results. Capable of assisting business partners in determining how to achieve business results quicker and more effectively through technology. This individual is responsible for understanding business direction and needs, in order to drive formulation of solutions and roadmaps; providing insights to technical solution capabilities, leveraging both internally developed and external solutions.
  • Ensures successful business outcomes by verifying the team's understanding of business goals and vision across the portfolio of projects.
  • Acts as a trusted advisor to business executives on all aspects of the solution, creating buy-in, leading communication and providing thought leadership so that the best system possible is implemented
  • Builds a strong team through clearly defining roles, attracting, retaining, and training talent, with a focus on developing team members.
  • Creates technology delivery roadmaps in collaboration with business executives. Includes running planning and status meetings.
  • Takes a leadership role in defining and shaping technology solutions aligned to the strategic direction of the business executives.
  • Responsible to stay abreast of industry and technology trends that impact or support business partners.
  • Responsible for effective stakeholder management - to create positive relationships through management of expectations and agreed upon objectives.
  • Leads the development and management of technology budgets in support of business objectives.
  • Be a trusted advisor to business partners regarding technology concerns, concepts, and opportunities.
  • Articulates the vision and strategic direction of the organization to the engineering teams; helps others translate strategic goals into tactical objectives.
  • Clearly understands the skills and experiences needed to fill gaps in his/her area of influence.
  • Matches individual strengths and interests with project and task assignments.
  • Provides clear project parameters (e.g., budget, timeline, deliverables) to all involved team members.
  • Develops clear succession plans; identifies top talent and growth opportunities.
  • Focuses on staff development to ensure that organization is able to promote from within.
  • Ensures the vision and strategies of one's area/scope consider future needs and developments
  • Utilizes external industry information to identify and implement best practices.

Qualifications:
  • BS/BA degree in computer science or related discipline, or equivalent experience, with advanced degree preferred
  • 12+ years of computer science or technology experience.
  • 7+ years of prior experience leading large scale engineering organizations in senior management level capacity.
  • Background and experience in Automotive industry a plus
  • Proven ability to partner with Sr. Business Executive in delivering technology solutions.
  • Proven experience in large scale system implementation efforts
  • Proven experience in creating and managing budgets
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills required.
  • Championing change, solving problems, thinking strategically, managing relationships/teams, c oaching/developing others.
  • Business savvy, customer focus, planning/organizing and talent management ability.
  • Ability to work under pressure with time constraints; regular changes in work tasks/duties
  • Strong knowledge of large scale lean/agile software delivery approaches.
  • Knowledge of MS Office products and related software programs is essential.
