Warehouse Worker

Express Employment Professionals are currently seeking Warehouse/Baggers for a Chemical Manufacturing Company in Buffalo, NY!

Pay rate: $17/hr

Shift: Mon-Fri, 8 hour shifts between 7am-4:30pm

Job Summary:

Receives stores, repackages and distributes chemicals and materials, tools, equipment, and products within establishments by performing the following duties.

Job Duties:

-Reads customer order, work order, shipping order, or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.

-Conveys materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or to other designated areas by use of forklift and manual lifting.

-Loads and unloads vehicles, including railcars (either customer orders or incoming product).

-Cleans out railcars after unloading and bagging is complete.

-Assembles customer orders from stock and places orders on pallets or conveys orders -to packing station or shipping department.

-Repackages chemicals in various product containers (bags, drums, pails, gallon jugs).

-Marks materials with appropriate labels and identifying information.

-Handle chemicals according to proper procedures and regulations.

-Wears appropriate personal protective equipment and respirator as necessary.

-Opens bales, crates, and other containers.

-Records amounts of materials or items received or distributed.

-Weighs or counts items for distribution within plant to ensure conformance to company -standards.

-May drive vehicle to transport stored items from warehouse to plant or to pick up items from several locations for shipment.

-Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules,

operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

-Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

-Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.

-Prior forklift experience preferred (certification a plus)

Work Environment:

-While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals.

-The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, outside weather conditions, and vibration.

-The noise level in the work environment is usually loud (driving conditions)
