Hadoop Developer

Note: This role does require employees on-site January 2021. Due to the nature of this role, there are no opportunities for visa sponsorship. This is a contract to hire.AU is seeking a Hadoop Developer for a client in the Kansas City area. The Hadoop Engineer plays a vital role in the effective management of integration programs that support theorganization and client demands. This position will use a variety of technologies tools that develops, maintains, andenhances complex and diverse software systems. This position is responsible for data and system integrations.Responsibilities:• Maintain existing products through enhancements, bug fixes, and ongoing maintenance.• Package and test applications in accordance with standards and procedures.• Demonstrates familiarity with documentation standards, and reviews existing documentation for all productsand technology areas.• Participating in in-house training sessions.• Self-study of documentation, including Programming Standards, technical documentation and user Manuals.• Work with Release and Configuration management to develop and improve deployment procedures.• Reports on project status, schedule, open issues, resolutions, and completion.• Work with product, quality assurance and technical operations to release code to Production. Participate indaily scrum meetings.• Keep abreast of the current technologies and technological trends. Learn and prototype new technologies, andrecommend their use in company products.• Make recommendations on how to rewrite, modify, and redesign legacy applications based on analysis.• Introduce and implement new ideas and tools geared to create better software that runs optimally inProduction.• Document and communicate software designs of complex systems.• Reduce and/or prevent production defects based on the continuous root cause analysis and processimprovement.• Ensures adherence to coding standards for self as well as team.Requirements:• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field• 3+ years’ experience implementing as a Developer• Expert-level SQL required• Experience with version control tools like Git, SVN or Team Foundation Server (TFS)• Experience with reporting tools like SSRS (Microsoft Reporting Services), Tableau• Experience with MVC design principles• Experience with Object Oriented programming• Experience with web services development• Experience with Analytical and/or BI concepts• Must have HDFS and related technology experience, including Python, Pig, Hawq, PostgreSQL, JSON, and Java• Some experience with messaging systems like MQ or MSMQ.• Some experience with JavaScript frameworks like Node JS, Google Angular• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.• Effective decision-making and critical thinking skills for problem identification and solution recommendation.• Ability to be flexible, set priorities and meet deadlines in a changing environment for self and team.• Ability to work independently and as part of a team while demonstrating initiative and using good businessjudgment.Preferred:• Microsoft Visual Studio C Sharp (C#)• Pivotal HDFS experience
