IBM Z/OS Consultant

Position : IBM Z/OS Consultant Location: US and Canada both (Remote) Position type: Contract/ Fulltime Job Description: Looking for engineers who can deploy IBM Z/OS Systems Tools. These tools are in the areas of monitoring, scheduling, devops, security, print, and pd tools. Products would include IBM workload scheduler, IBM Systems Automation, IBM OMEGAMON, RACF, etc. Tool writers or Migration experts: When we deploy these products for our clients, we are often migrating them competitive products (e.g. CA, BMC) or homegrown solutions. So the deployment specialists would not only help a client with installing and implementing the IBM products, but also to migrate from the competitors products. At a high level, that means reading the reports or outputs of the other products, and determining how to get that information into the IBM products (in a simplistic fashion it can be described as read, transform, load) . Of course over the years, we have automated this work, and it is an iterative and does require manual intervention - but these are the tools we need help with. So, the two roles we have to look for: 1. Deployment specialists - Systems Programmers who can install IBM products (and have knowledge of others) whom IBM will train to support these efforts with clients. 2. Tools writers - developers who can modify / create migration tools. For now, I think we are focused on personnel that would build a new tool - vs. updating current tooling.
