Modeling and Simulation Algorithm Engineer

Solidus is looking for a Modeling and Simulation Algorithm Engineer with mathematical modeling and software development experience.The successful candidate will to contribute to ongoing and future efforts to enhance the Ballistic Missile Homeland Defense architecture and components as part of the Ground Based Midcourse Defense Technical Direction Agent. Tasks include evaluation of the Ballistic Missile Defense system performance as a function of the current and future system capabilities, development of future architecture concepts and component capabilities to enhance system performance, and execution of component-level trade studies. Mathematical modeling and software development will be required to execute technical analyses. Candidate will be expected to interface with government contractors, sponsors and warfighters to assess existing capabilities, identify technology needs, and present technical results. Candidate must also be able to conduct analysis independently and as part of a larger analysis team effort.Requirements: - ship and the ability to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance; Secret preferred - MS plus 3 years minimum experience, or BS plus 5 years minimum experience - Systems Analysis and Engineering - Data Reduction and Exploitation - Algorithm development, implementation, testing and evaluation - Proficient at high-level prototyping software language (e.g., Matlab) - Ability to clearly present technical concepts to a wide spectrum of audiencesPreferred Qualifications: - System Optimization - Infrared phenomenology and sensor knowledge - Radar sensor performance knowledge - Space inertial systems knowledge - Natural space environment effects - Experience with DoD signature and environment models: MODTRAN, OSC, XPATCH, CREME96 - Program leadershipJob ID 3833Applicants selected must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
