The OpportunityWe are seeking a talented

Application Architect (Solutions Architect) to design and implement information systems which will adequately support the organization. This position identifies new technologies, partners, and applications to enhance and improve the companies market or internal offerings. This role assists with creation and maintenance of a technology reference model. The Application Architect creates architecture artifacts along the project lifecycle to document technical requirements and vision. They also work with other areas of the business to assess needs and figure out the underlying issue that needs to be solved. This position leads application and solution architecture practice across engineering scrum teams and identifies project and solution-related architectural issues to the wider architecture team. The Application Architect analyzes system requirements and ensures that systems will offer secure solutions and will be effectively integrated with current applications. The person in this role ensures that all systems are working at optimal levels and offers support to application development department regarding new technologies and system requirements.What You Can Look Forward to
  • Assesses IT application solutions, analyzes functionality, efficiency and productivity; helps design, develop and implement new technical solutions.
  • Defines requirements based on user/client needs, cost, and required integration with existing applications, systems, or platforms.
  • Creates system architecture design documents on complex or integration projects.
  • Creates and owns the architecture documentation, including review of existing architecture (Infrastructure, Applications, Cloud, etc.) and updates as changes are made. Builds strong internal and external partnerships.
  • Actively supports CO-OP’s strategic future, culture and leadership practices.
  • Proactively pursues development opportunities and show expected progress on learning plan.
  • Researches industry best practices.
  • Inspects what is expected to make sure architecture is delivered in the design. Reviews code to make sure it aligns with goals and objectives (inspect what you expect); provides guidance on configurability vs hard coding; provides standards that are in alignment with the size of the company.
  • Crucial in supporting the process of the SDLC by ensuring architecture is supporting of developing scope and estimates in alignment of company objectives to complete in a timely, cost effective and efficient manner.
  • Understands impact of project on both business and technology infrastructure.
  • Analyzes business scenarios and identifies opportunities for technically innovative solutions and improvements.
  • Adhere to Agile principles and philosophies (Scrum or Kanban, as applicable) in fulfillment of the role.
  • Collaborate within the direct team in accordance with Team Agreement, Definition of Ready, and Definition of Done.
  • Work as a cross-functional team member in an Agile setting to help complete and deliver the team commitments.
  • Collaborate across teams and across business areas in the spirit of an Agile mindset.
  • Fulfill the role in the spirit of the Agile Manifesto, with emphasis on delivery of incremental value with frequent iterations and feedback loops.
  • Responsible for reporting risks that are identified to the appropriate team and/or management. Additionally, responsible for managing, monitoring and reporting risks within the scope of your work area, to include, but not limited to Information Security risks.

What You’ll Need to Succeed
  • BS in Computer Science / Computer Information Systems or equivalent degree, or equivalent training and/or experience.
  • 10+ years previous development experience required.
  • 10+ years’ experience across a diverse domain of technologies preferably in the Microsoft stack,
  • Design solutions utilizing your technical knowledge in application development, infrastructure, cloud, data, and security.
  • Advanced knowledge of Modern OS architecture concepts and communications protocols.
  • Experience with Mulesoft technologies is highly preferred
  • Advanced database design and development.
  • Expert technical knowledge in software development methodologies, design and implementation.
  • Creativity and the foresight to identify potential problems within our systems.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality pertaining to non-public business, financial and technological information, plans or data.
  • Advanced analytical, design and problem-solving skills at multi-product/multi-environment level to troubleshoot system defects and mitigate the issues they cause.
  • Possess high motivation and self-direction, sound problem solving skills, decision making and multi- tasking skills.
  • Expert skills in research and analysis, project planning and implementation. Understanding and awareness of business issues as they impact overall project plans.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills, with an ability to express and document complex technical concepts in business terms.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with technical staff, non-technical staff, end-users for requirements gathering, testing, training, and outcome validation.
  • Ability to work the time necessary to complete projects or meet deadlines.
  • Ability to communicate technical content to a non-technical person.
  • Thorough knowledge of infrastructure, application programming, and web and software applications.
  • Ability to stay abreast of new technology and continually learn new skills to come up with innovative ways to solve complex problems.
