- Write clear, persuasive, and compliant proposal sections; translate technical and other ideas into easily understandable text; rewrite, review, and edit proposal sections and related proposal documents
- Take ownership of proposal sections in major proposal efforts: outlining, drafting, and refining content
- Collaborate with NETE stakeholders and subject matter experts to develop proposal sections that clearly articulate the team’s overall solution and strategy, approach to performing the work, win themes, and discriminators
- Research of information to be included in documents, which may include conducting interviews, attending meetings, and gathering source information
- Synthesize text and ideas from multiple authors, and compile information for each section and edit language to ensure one voice
- Edit content for consistency, clarity, grammar, and syntax, and compile with customer requirements
- Gather and format resumes, project descriptions, and other material for proposal development
- Participate in proposal color team reviews to make sure that key messages are coming through in their sections
- Provide excellent customer service, communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, and meet project deadlines
- Participate in other pursuits, collaborating in brainstorming sessions, reviewing proposal sections, and envisioning alternative solutions to support customer goals
- Manage multiple proposals and projects at the same time, prioritizing appropriately to meet strict deadlines
- B.A. or B.S. (or equivalent); specialization in English, journalism, communications, or a related field preferred
- 1-3 years of experience with proposal writing for Federal Government bids in a professional setting highly desired
- Excellent written, verbal, analytical, and communications skills needed – the ability to grasp and communicate complex ideas easily, have a mastery of language including superior grammar skills, and the ability to write succinctly and condense complex ideas into simple means
- Ability to work quickly, accurately, and collaboratively to meet deadlines
- Sound business ethics, including the protection of proprietary and confidential information, required
- Familiarity with business opportunity tracking tools/portals such as GovWin, FBO.gov, etc.
- Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
