ResponsibilitiesIt is preferred that this position is full-time, but shifts may be flexible to ensure coverage between 8am-8pm daily.The position is temporary and may end at any time depending on the demand.

Specific Duties:Get in touch with contacts of persons diagnosed with COVID-19 patients through text, email, phone calls, and other platforms when necessary within the program determinedtime frames establishedProvide contacts with approved information on quarantine procedures, what to do ifsymptoms develop, and, if appropriate, refer them to testingAssign risk category depending on the contact's underlying medical conditions,occupation, living situation, and level of contact with case, and understand protocol foreach risk categoryWork closely with a team made up of surveillance coordinators, investigators, and datamanagers to efficiently complete case investigationsSystematically collect and record information in a local databaseCommunicate with your team and supervisor when contact cannot be made with anindividual to determine the best way to address the problemProtect and maintain individuals' privacy and confidentiality

Required Qualifications:Excellent communication, organizational, and critical thinking skills; sound judgment andattention to detailExperience conducting telephone-based or in-person interviewsAbility to speak, read, and write English; fluency in languages other than English isadvantageousProficiency in basic computing and ability to access and navigate various databases andsoftware programs following trainingFlexibility, professionalism, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneouslyare highly valued attributesAbility to interact appropriately and effectively with a wide range of personsAbility to be equally comfortable working individually and within a team environment thatemphasizes interdisciplinary collaboration in a dynamic health departmentAbility to show empathy and be nonjudgmental towards distressed individualsExcellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact professionally with people fromdiverse cultural, racial, ethnic, gender, and socioeconomic backgrounds during a time ofcrisis and distressHave a commitment to supporting communities who have experienced systemicoppression and bias (e.g. people of color, LGBTQ+ people, immigrants, justice involvedpersons, etc.)Candidate must have a quiet, distraction-free work environment without any conflictingresponsibilities during your scheduled work shift. This position could move to on-site callcenters at a later date.Equipment to be provided by Department of Health and must be returned uponcompletion of assignment in good working order. Must have access to good/reliableinternet connection.New Jersey Residents required. Familiarity with New Jersey's geography, i.e.municipalities/counties/locations required.

Education/Experience:High School Diploma or equivalent requiredHealth-related professional experience/training in public health, social work preferred
