Business Title- Senior Cloud Service Engineer, ICON Photo Studio software team RESPONSIBILITIES We are building solutions for image and video delivery at the scale of Client’s global athlete community. We rely upon Agile principles to devise cloud-based solutions to build a best-in-class digital asset production and delivery system. We participate in the open-source community and partner with key vendors, but at our core we are team with diverse talents and interests that rely upon one another to build a system that automates the delivery of dynamic media content to the world’s athletes. It feels natural for this team to solve challenges that come our way like solving the digital asset production and management. Our users are the photographers and stylists that run Client’s photo studio. Goals of the Marketing Technology group at Client: · Automate the production of marketing images and video · Support Clients Marketing team to inspire athletes using digital media · Collaborate with media production teams to support their creative process · Measure our impact and continually improve our connection to the consumer The Marketing technology team will focus on making a scalable repository for Client’s digital media that is indexed and searchable. We will use the cloud to scale our application to the intense storage needs of video content and partner with application design teams to make our user interface intuitive. As our Sr. Cloud Services Engineer, you will play an integral role in developing innovative and highly scalable microservices to support content authoring and media delivery for native mobile applications and websites. In this role, you will be: · Innovating, architecting, designing and implementing highly available, scalable systems, focusing on highly visible marketing initiatives · Code, deploy and support enterprise-level microservices using continuous deployment practices · Contributing ideas for new features and identifying areas for improvement proactively · Collaborating with other teams at Client to design, develop, and deploy highly scalable media distribution APIs and services · Provide technical leadership and best engineering practices to implement new services, replace existing ones and resolve defects · Writing clean, tested, and well-documented code and participate in peer code review process

Must-Have Qualifications · Academic background in computer science (BS or MS) or equivalent work experience · 4+ years’ experience developing highly scalable APIs and services · Fluency with Java and ability to support a codebase with thousands of lines of code · Proven skills writing automated software tests (unit, integration, end-to-end) · Linux application developer skills (network tuning, monitoring, and application installation), bash/shell scripting · SQL proficiency, with experience optimizing database queries and using Hibernate

Preferred Qualifications · Experience with open source digital asset management systems like Nuxeo or Alfresco · Experience porting an existing system to a cloud-based, serverless solution · Experience with AWS Lambda · Experience using AWS APIs for S3 storage and configuration · Experience supporting users who are artists or designers · Interest in photography · Experience using Puppet, Terraform for system configuration and deployment · Ability to work closely with Product Managers, other development teams, and QA teams · Be a self-starter with a passion for technology and a burning desire to constantly improve yourself, the product, and the codebase · Comfortable working within an exciting fast-paced environment · Openness to new technologies and creative solutions · Experience estimating work, planning, organization and implementing complex software projects
