This role can have a home base anywhere in the US as long as you are willing to travel as needed. Our client has military base construction projects located mostly in TX, California, Utah, and Oklahoma with various contracting agencies like NAVAC, ACOE, etc. They sponsor trips home, and take care of living arrangements, vehicle expenses, and are looking for candidates who understand what is required and is excited about a role that will have you working on a variety of exciting projects. Our client, a 50MM Federal Construction firm focused on the Federal / DOD general construction space, is seeking a full-time permanent Federal Construction professional who is willing and capable of wearing multiple hats including Superintendent / QC / SSHO to join their team to support general construction projects. Here are some of the responsibilities you may hold at any given time.

Superintendent
  • Work with Project Manager on pushing the construction schedule, and notify them of any potential issues.
  • Work with QC to ensure that the proper meetings are conducted, documented, and paperwork submitted. Assist QC to monitor the quality of workmanship on site.
  • Work with Safety Manager to ensure that all rules and procedures are being followed.
  • Develop on site relationship with the Project Construction Manager and QA on the government side. Nurture rapport with customers, but maintain a reputation for being tough on schedule, reasonable, and fair.
  • Schedule, organize, and quarterback all subcontractor activities on the job site. Develop a reputation with subs as being tough, professional, and honest.

Safety:
  • Manage all safety claims.
  • Attend Site Safety meetings.
  • Meet OSHA requirements and submit the required safety paperwork.
  • Make sure all the crews are following and adhering to safety requirements.
  • Work closely with the superintendents and project managers as well as the owners.
  • Make sure all military, state, and federal safety and quality control requirements are being met and exceeded

QC:
  • Develop and Administer the Quality Control Plan for the project
  • Certify that all submittals are in compliance with contract requirements.
  • Review plans and specifications to ensure requirements are met for each construction process.
  • Provide documented evaluations, assessments, and CQC assistance to staff and subcontractor personnel.

Requirements:
  • Strong background in Government Construction projects wearing multiple hats including Superintendent, QC / Quality Control, SSHO / Site Safety Health Officer.
  • Team player, willing to do whatever it takes.
  • Proven experience with new build and renovation projects typically in the $400k-$5M value.
  • Collaborative and works well with a team to address challenges and provide growth oriented solutions.
  • Federal Construction / Army Corp of Engineer (ACOE) experience
