Role- Hadoop/Spark DeveloperLocation: Providence, RI/Tampa FL/Denver COEmployement type- Full-time Description:Client is seeking a Spark Developer who has hands-on experience in Hadoop ecosystem, i.e. Spark, Scala, Hadoop, Hbase, Hive, Sqoop, Flume, Kafka and Python. This position will require a strong understanding and hands-on programming/scripting experience skills – UNIX shell, Perl, and JavaScript. The candidate selected will need to have experience with design and implementation of ETL/ELT framework for complex warehouses/marts. Will be working with large data sets and responsible for performance tuning and troubleshooting. Willingness to troubleshoot and solve complex problems is a plus. Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent required from an accredited institution. Will also consider three years of progressive experience in the specialty in lieu of every year of education4 years of Information Technology experience.At least 2 years of strong hands-on experience in Spark, Scala/Java programming.At least 2 years of experience in Hadoop ecosystem, i.e. Hadoop, Hbase, Hive, Sqoop, Flume, Kafka, Nifi and Python. Preferred Qualifications:At least 4 years of experience in Project life cycle activities on development and maintenance projects.At least 2 years of experience in Design and Review.Background in all aspects of software engineering with strong skills in parallel data processing, data flows, REST APIs, JSON, XML, and micro service architecture.Strong understanding and hands-on programming/scripting experience skills – UNIX shell, Perl, and JavaScript.Experience with design and implementation of ETL/ELT framework for complex warehouses/marts.Experience with ETL tools like Informatica, IBM Datastage preferred.Proficient in SQL, PL/SQL, Oracle DB.Knowledge of large data sets and experience with performance tuning and troubleshooting.Hands-on development mentality, with a willingness to troubleshoot and solve complex problems.Vompetency in Python, Java programing.Should have experience in using/setting up DevOps, CI / CD pipelineWork exposure in Agile projects. Good understating of Agile methodology including tools like JIRAStrong written and oral communication skills
