Employee focused.JOB SUMMARYJob Profile SummaryMonitors the flow and operation of pipelines and facilities on a 24-hour basis from a centralized location. Ensures the oversight of product quality integrity and timely and accurate product delivery or receipts for customers and suppliers. Operates and monitors product pipelines, origin and destination, storage facility operations, remote pumping facilities, and supplier sites. Responds to upset/alarm conditions appropriately. Participates in both, independent and team emergency response, operating emergency response communications system for the notification of pipeline management/government agencies per the Department of Transportation (DOT) and state regulations and the Company's System Integrity Plan (SIP). Requests work orders for the repair of malfunctioning equipment. Logs pertinent information and ensures that adequate information exchange takes place with each required shift hand-over.Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Monitoring line integrity:
Recognizing and responding to Abnormal Operating Conditions as outlined in DOT Part 195.
Responding to mainline leaks and/or ruptures to minimize the amount of petroleum released from the pipe.
Reviewing each field alarm received in the Control Center via the SCADA system and respond appropriately per the Operations Control Procedures Manual.
Operating remotely controlled equipment as pumps, valves, meters, provers, and additive injection systems.
Implementation and completion of pumping schedule.
Perform batch tracking of various products in the pipeline system, including calculating ETAs and ETDs of product changes.
Coordination of field personnel to start product movements, handle product grade changes and respond to emergency conditions.
Measurement responsibilities include proving meters, issuing End of Batch commands that activate Custody Transfer Ticketing of products in and out of the system.
Monitoring product storage tank levels and alarms.
Tracking cleaning pigs and internal inspection devices through the pipeline.
Comply with company policies and procedures, including System Integrity Plan (SIP) and OQ requirements and implement them into location work practices. Attend and actively participate in safety training meetings.
Responsibilities may include Department of Transportation (DOT) covered functions, including operations, maintenance, or emergency response on a pipeline. Job duties also require the employee to be alert and respond immediately to dangerous or hazardous conditions, and where impaired performance, or failure to follow safety precautions, could result in serious injury or property damage.
