Performs various types of soldering including surface mount, thru-hole, micro-soldering and hand-soldering.
Perform complex assembly operations according to established specifications and instructions.
Perform special soldering and assembly processes including validation builds and engineering sample builds.
Performs first article checks as required to ensure all components match the bill-of-material description, that it is placed in the correct location and with the correct polarity.
Repair defects in line and enter defect data into CIQ system.
Ensure daily logs and move/production tickets are accurately maintained.
Positive communication and interfacing with employees in all areas of manufacturing and support-related functions.
Under direct, close supervision, work direction comes from the immediate supervisor or in the supervisor’s absence, from Group Leader, Shift Leader, or other management so assigned.
Follow simple, standardized, and routine written directions for assigned work.
Work direction may additionally be communicated verbally or through visual aids and set-up sheets.
Ensure that the assigned area is clean and organized.
May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS
2+ years of electronic soldering experience
small component and micro-soldering experience.
Ability to effectively communicate with supervisor and peers.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Ability to operate a personal computer including using a Windows-based operating system and related software.
Able to properly solder according to work order specifications.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret graphs.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Read and understand visual aid. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Must be able to calculate quantity of parts to be prepped and ready for use at any time. Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Individual may be required to sit, stand or walk. Reaching, bending, loading, and unloading of boards and reels is mandatory, as is lifting of up to 35 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and use of microscope and/or magnifying glass.
