Position Summary:
The Registered Radiologic Technologist is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility of patients for a designated time frame and to provide care, specifically in the Heart & Vascular Institute. The patient population consists of those requiring an invasive cardiology or invasive radiology study. The Registered Radiologic Technologist will assist the physician in all procedures and provide a valuable service to the patient and the team.

Free Health Insurance for the rest of the yearQualifications:EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS Associate's Degree in Related field or Certificate in Radiologic Technology CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS Radiography (R)(ARRT) upon hire and IEMA Radiography License upon hire and EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS preferreder previous Radiologic Technology experience in a procedural setting. SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE Capacity to learn and retain information regarding patient care and procedures. Ability to communicate effectively, follow directions, and complete detailed work accurately. Demonstrates compassion and caring in dealing with others. Manual dexterity to handle small supplies. Essential Functions:
Administers contrast material (when applicable), according to physician's request, by means of existing IV line or by performing venipuncture and placing IV line; recognizes and responds to hypersensitivity or allergic reactions.
All functions and duties will be under the direct supervision of a physicist or dosimetrist.
Assists with inventory/supplies.
Checks for correct patient and chart identification, diagnosis, and treatment position.
Compiles pertinent clinical information pertaining to lab, pathology, etc.
Assists in instruction of new staff as necessary.
Documents accurately and completely.
Explains procedure to patient and provides for patient care- including comfort, support, safety, and confidentiality.
Accurately informs procedural nurse of correct doses of intra-procedural medications, radiation and sponge/sharp counts.
Performs on call duties and/or work variable shifts as assigned to meet department needs.
Performs all essential functions of the Radiologic Technologist.
Able to work around and maintain a sterile field during procedures.
Administers and with holds contrast and treatment as appropriate. Assess patients for allergies.
Can pull supplies for procedures.
Takes late shift duties as assigned to meet department needs.
Skin suturing.
Basic knowledge of ECG interpretation.
Electrophysiology equipment troubleshooting.
Understanding and running the pacing stimulator during ablations and EP studies.
