Network Engineer

Description SAIC has a career opportunity for a Network Maintenance Technician located in Huntsville, AL. The successful candidate will support the Voice-Over-IP environment for an Army customer as well as assist in maintaining the total Unified Communications environment. As such, a broad knowledge base and the ability to work across technologies is highly desirable. This position will be responsible for installation, configuration, operation and maintenance of system hardware, networks, applications and any related infrastructure. Responsibilities:

• Assist in the design, development, and implementation of new data and voice networks
• Install network hardware and software, and conduct system testing
• Install, test, verify, troubleshoot, repair, and terminate CAT6, CAT5e, and fiber optics
• Assist with the implementation and expanding existing networks, develop network schematics, and identify interconnectivity requirements and data requirements
• Assist with the installation of new phone equipment, network equipment, and audio visual equipment
• Install, setup and maintain Video Teleconference (VTC) equipment, monitors and projectors
• Compile lists of materials, obtain quotes and coordinate with vendors

• Ability to climb ladders, run cable, crawl under tables, lift monitors, projectors and other common A/V equipment
• Experience working with Federal government customers in support of delivery of Unified Communication services
• Ability to interpret requirements and translate into service request if needed
