PCA position

Looking for a personal care assistant to work for a 35-year-old active and employed quadriplegic male.

Ideal candidates are friendly, professional, hard working, proactive, and have a fairly flexible schedule. Punctuality and reliability are very important and must have own transportation unless living close by. Previous experience in the PCA and/or health care field is good though definitely not a requirement.

Job responsibilities include assistance with bathing, bathroom program, dressing, stretching, cooking and preparing meals, eating, grooming, exercising, and other activities of daily living. Must be comfortable driving a minivan and have a good driving record. Physical strength and fitness is required for transfers to and from wheelchair.

Additional responsibilities: laundry, keeping living area clean and tidy, grocery shopping and other errands.

The job will also include travel both around New England and further abroad for surfing, skiing, and sailing trips.

Shifts currently available are Friday 5:30 AM to 6 PM, Saturdays and Sundays 6 AM to 6 PM. If only able to cover part of the shifts, I am open to discussing a more flexible work schedule.
