The
primary focus of this position is to design reports using innovative
techniques and to analyze data from various sources and systems in order to
present reports as required by regulatory agencies and to recommend and
implement solutions to assist in planning and decision making. Technical skills are employed to access
various systems, requiring ongoing education regarding data extraction and
various computer systems. Extensive
knowledge of third party reimbursement regulations and reimbursement modeling
is required.
MINIMUM
QUALIFICATIONS:EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:
1.
Bachelor
degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Industrial Engineering,
Business Management, or Hospital Administration.
EXPERIENCE:
1.
Two years in data analysis and/or
health care planning background.

Collaboratively
interacts with Information Technology, Patient Financial Services and
Decision Support.
2.
Must
remain current with how information is collected, maintained and reported in
all key systems.
3.
Identify data
uses and develop analysis opportunities that are currently not used. Uses innovation to extract data from
various sources.
4.
Work with
IT, PFS and DSS to design solutions to various technical problems.
5.
Maintain and
continually improve on technical skills needed to manipulate data.
6.
Write PC
programs, spreadsheet macros and design data base structures as needed to
produce and analyze reports.
7.
Maintain
advanced report writing skills on Trendstar and other
systems as needed.
8.
Provides
thorough financial and statistical analysis of data, as needed, to produce
reports and support decision making.
9.
Communicate
and educate others regarding financial improvement analyses, findings and recommendations
10.
Provide
monthly, annual and ad hoc financial reports to all levels of staff,
management, and external agencies.
11.
Demonstrates
ability to work with staff to resolve problems and correct deficiencies in
processes.
12.
Responsible
for researching and analyzing revenue opportunities and implementing changes
to realize improvements.
13.
Maintains
current knowledge of third party reimbursement regulations in order to
develop reimbursement models
14.
Maintains
ability to manipulate and analyze complex data to assist in decision making.
15.
Provide
leadership and support in performance improvement activities.
16.
Participates
on performance improvement initiatives as team leader or in a leadership role
in areas of technical expertise.
17.
Become an
expert on issues and technical problems that appear as roadblocks to projects
and offer solutions to address issues.
18.
Maintain current
knowledge of performance improvement processes as it applies to health care.
19.
Attends
courses in PI activities, system design, technical training, statistical
analysis and other appropriate health care related educational courses.
20.
Participates in meeting the
objectives of the work unit and goals of the department.
21.
Promotes and contributes positively
to the teamwork of the department by assisting co-workers, contributing ideas
and problem-solving with co-workers as observed by supervisor.
22.
Participates in performance
improvement through planning and implementing change and maintaining and
improving productivity through attendance and participation in staff
meetings, committees, task forces, cross functional groups, projects and
discussion with hospital and medical staff as observed by supervisor.
