MBG Property Management is in search of an exceptional person to join our team. As an accounting manager for this small family owned company you will have an opportunity to grow along with the company and be appreciated for your efforts. The accounting manager position includes but is not limited, oversight of accounting staff, preparation, production, and review of all financial statements for property portfolio.

This dynamic position requires the ability to provide leadership, structure, mentorship, and problem-solving ability. The integration of accounting and personnel management requires patience and discipline. Due to MBG Property Management’s desire to continue growing at a rapid pace, the accounting manager must be willing to develop accounting functions retro-actively to facilitate growth.

Key Accountabilities:

· Ensure mortgage and insurance payments are executed properly

· Ensure all day to day accounting functions are completed timely and accurately.

· Review and approve expenditures.

· Process escrow payments.

· Process management fees and owner distributions.

· Reconcile all cash and escrow accounts.

· Analysis of general ledger, income and expense, and balance sheet reports.

· Prepare and submit government and lender monthly reporting.

· Publish monthly financial statements for management and owners/investors.

· No later than the third Monday of every month.

· Bi-Weekly financial/planning meeting with department chairs.

· Ensure all financial deadlines are met (see accounting manual and Financial Reporting workbook).

· Prepare and submit replacement reserve and construction draws, as needed.

· Prepare and assist in annual budgets.

· Prepare annual audit and tax work papers and timely respond to auditor questions.

· Enter audit journal entries and distribute finalized audits, tax returns and K-1’s.

· Provide accounting/software training and support.

· Design, facilitate and update accounting functions to accommodate company growth (renovations, new divisions, utility reports, etc)

· Maintain superior knowledge, ability, and skill to employ accounting software.

· Initiate annual property insurance renewal and provide property information to providers for bid’s.

Measurability:

· Capability to produce accurate reports in a timely fashion.

· Ability to utilize staff’s time and ability to fullest capability.

· Knowledge to mentor subordinates.

· Cost of accounting department relative to number of units managed.

Requirements:

· B.A. in Accounting

· 3 years of property management experience

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills

· Excellent organizational skills

· Meticulous attention to details and accuracy

· Proficient in Office 365
