About:

Western States Bank is a community bank with locations in Western Nebraska, Northern Colorado and SE Wyoming is seeking an experienced Loan Operations Manager to lead our centralized Loan Services Department in Cheyenne, Wyoming.

Job Summary:

The position is responsible for the overall loan operations management and oversight of the commercial, real estate, agriculture and consumer loan accounting systems, processes and loan operations staff of seven. This includes processing, servicing, accounting, reporting functions, and customer service. The position requires design and administration of systems processes and procedures to ensure accurate and timely processing; leadership, training and supervision of the operations staff and ensuring that the department meets its goals. The Loan Operation Manager will need to communicate with the other bank department managers/officers to promote efficient work flow and establish a positive work relationship across the organization.

Salary: $65,000 - $85,000 / year (Depending on Experience)

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and demonstrate proficiency with loan software applications (Fiserv, Accusystems, LaserPro, DocuSign, Factual Data, Golden Eagle, AFR/Elite Tracking, Mountain Seed Appraisal and Valuation Services, VinTec, Simplfile, and Lereta Tax Service) and oversee the vendor management functions for each software platform.
  • Work with system providers/vendors to utilize applications to fullest capacity, streamlining processes and procedures, ensuring accuracy and compliance. Implement periodic updates to system software, verify that enhancements are working correctly and train department staff on updates.
  • Direct loan input (system boarding) and verification procedures for all loans. Ensure proper segregation of duties, develop and maintain work flows for all stages of loan input.
  • Supervise all aspects of the loan operations including generation of loan documents, booking loans, posting of payments, payoffs, draw requests, collateral management, post-closing functions, appraisal orders, and balancing general ledger accounts.
  • Manage the processing of loans in non-accrual, charge-off or OREO status. Prepare related reports and administer system.
  • Manage the Quality Control Review process and procedure on loan documentation, loan bookings and the organization of the electronic scanned loan files in the AccuSystem.
  • Responsible for timely preparation of Board, Call, SBA and other various reports.
  • Oversees the Loan Operations staff hiring, training and development, mentoring, periodic staff reviews, employee performance management, and problem resolution.
  • Compile loan reports for all internal and external loan reviews and audits. Review and provide management response to any internal loan audits.
  • Adheres to all State and Federal Banking Regulations; research new regulations; update policies and procedures and implement them. Staying current on compliance and regulations by attending seminars and reading available information.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent (required)
  • Some college background strongly preferred, business or related degree (preferred)
  • 3+ years of supervisory and leadership experience (required)
  • 3+ years of relevant loan operations management experience (required)
  • 7+ years of banking experience (required)
  • 7+ years of Lending experience (preferred)
  • Detailed knowledge of lending products, including commercial, real estate and consumer.
  • Experience in solving practical problems and dealing with a variety of variables.
  • Experience in developing, training, leading, inspiring and motivating teams.
  • Computer Skills – To perform this job successfully, an individual should have a strong knowledge of PC skills including Microsoft products, loan management software, and loan accounting systems.
  • Experience with loan accounting systems with preference for FISERV and Laser Pro banking systems.
  • Analysis – Collects and researches data; uses intuition and experience to complement data; designs work flows and procedures; ability to analyze and calculate figures and amounts on complex loan transactions.

  • Customer Service – Manages communications among loan operations, credit administration and branch loan personnel.
