Small Lighting Company in need of experienced machine shop worker

Blueprint Lighting is a small family owned business that manufactures decorative lighting for the interior design industry. We are looking for an associate to run the light duty machinery in our shop.

Qualifications and Work Experience Required

Prefer 2-5 years manufacturing experience.

Experience with light duty drill and mill presses, belt sanders, Di-Acro tube bender, and table taps.

Ability to work independently in a small workshop with other 4-5 people

Engage in continuous improvement activities such as exposing problems, collecting data to solve problems, and suggesting improvement/upgrade ideas

Must be willing and able to work mandatory weekday and weekend overtime hours as required to meet the production needs of the team.

Ability to wear appropriate PPE to include a minimum of safety shoes and safety glasses.

Demonstrated ownership of equipment, performing regular Autonomous Maintenance including cleaning equipment and work station

Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work successfully in a team-based environment that heavily emphasizes quality, performance, cross-training, customer service and high accountability.

Job Summary

Perform various manufacturing duties, including drilling, tapping, and polishing quantities of large and small parts for inventory

Set-up, operate, and break down drill press, tube bender, belt sanders, and table tap.

DESIRED CAPABILITIES

Prefer familiarity with manual machining including lathes, mills and/or grinders.

Prefer capability to assess equipment performance and perform first level troubleshooting

Understanding of Problem Solving

Perform other various manufacturing duties as required to ensure the team meets all goals and objectives. Types of work include: Handfinishing, fiberwheel, belting, material handling, hand finishing, buffing, dye marking, masking, and inspection parts and components.

HOURS AND COMPENSATION:

$18-20hr to start. Pay increase/benefits/PTO available after 90 days. We are willing to be flexible on hours for the right candidate. Part time and full time are available.
