The Infrastructure Line of Business is looking for top talent to grow the team and make key contributions to accelerate the development of Arm-based solutions in this new market. Due to an increase in workload, we are looking for a Server Performance Architect to join the team in either Austin, San Jose or Seattle.Your new job at ArmBased on one of our prestigious sites in the US, you will have real responsibilities from day one with no two days being the same. You will get support and mentorship from specialists that will help you succeed and develop your career, with a clear plan for your first 6 months providing you the platform to succeed whilst collaborating with leading technology partners in the US and China.You will be responsible for liaising with our major customers collecting requirements for cloud workloads and use cases. You will act as a liaison for Arm partners on performance issues concerning server workloads, performance bottlenecks and getting a firm understanding of what their requirements are and identify opportunities to improve our service to them.You will also be guiding Arm architectures and IP teams to improve performance on cloud/server applications, setting new directions to advance Arm technologies in the datacenter. In addition, you will play a key role in influencing benchmark committees and participating in technical forums. Other responsibilities include:- Understanding and address performance bottlenecks in cloud applications on Arm servers.
- Contribute to performance improvements and features to open source SW.
- Contribute to performance improvements and features to Arm HW IPs.
- Communicate in technical forums such as internal and external conferences, as well as in customer and partner meetings.
- MS/PhD in Computer Science or Computer Engineering. 5+ years performance analysis and diagnostics experience.
- Solid SW background (combinations of compiler, Linux OS/kernel, runtime environments, Python/Perl/shell scripting, assembly, firmware).
- Knowledge in CPU architecture, end-to-end software performance, networking and storage concepts.
- Performance data collection, cleansing and analytics.
- Knowledge of the Arm ISA is helpful but not required.
- High degree of initiative and a proven problem solver.
- Fluent in English language, both written and spoken.
- Good communicator, personable and able to work and communicate at a detailed or high level.
- A Chinese (Mandarin) speaker would be highly desirable
