Major Accountabilities:

Assists in implementing systems to meet safety regulations/performance for refinery production facility.

Assists in implementation of process and procedures to maintain compliance with all applicable local, state and federal regulations and permits under OSHA, TTB, FRA, EPA and state DENR.

Assists in implement facility’s Emergency Action Plan (EAP), Integrated Contingency Plan (ICP), Spill Prevention, Control and Countermeasures (SPCC), and Risk Management Plan (RMP).

Assists in completing multi-media responsibility for task driven commitments.

Assists in establishing and maintaining relationship with local fire departments and response organizations to facilitate their participation in the Facility Response Plan.

Assists in maintaining and ensuring implementation of Process Safety Management (PSM).

Assists in ensuring implementation of Safe Work Practices (SWP), including providing training and making required changes.

Assists in implementing site security plan.

Positions may be available at any of the following locations:

Meraux, LA - Meraux Refinery

Memphis, TN - Memphis Refinery

Port Arthur, TX - Port Arthur Refinery

San Antonio, TX – Valero Headquarters

Sunray, TX - McKee RefineryThis position is hourly nonexempt status, which means you are eligible for overtime pay.Qualifications:

Currently pursuing bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in Chemical Engineering, Safety Sciences or related field required.

Overall GPA of 3.2 (or higher) on a 4.0 scale preferred.

Obtained at least 60 credit hours by the start of summer internship required.

Graduation dates of August 2025 through May 2027 required.
