Company: We are a stable, growing, licensed general contractor with 15+ employees. We are a workers cooperative seeking individuals who are interested in the coop model and in working within an environment that encourages craftsmanship, collaboration, mutual learning, and respect.
Position Overview (Apprentice): Individuals will have experience using basic hand and power tools and have some knowledge of most phases of construction. Applicants must have a minimum of 1 year of carpentry experience.
Skills:
Willingness to learn and improve carpentry skills.
Gets work done fast, correctly, and safely.
Able to take direction.
Has basic complement of tools of the trades including a vehicle and smartphone.
Physical fitness to lift and carry 60 pounds two flights of stairs, on ladders, planks, and scaffolds.
Understands building math.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook software.
Position Overview (Carpenter): An experienced carpenter will be a skilled and productive belt-on carpenter, able to work on all phases of construction. Applicants must have a minimum of 3 years of experience.

Able to take direction and contribute to solutions.
Understands a task at hand and executes to the end.
Has a full complement of tools of the trades including a vehicle and smartphone.
Physical fitness to lift and carry 60 pounds two flights of stairs, on ladders, planks, and scaffolds.
Reads and comprehends building plans and knows basic codes.
Understands building math.
Adept at verbal and written communication skills to clearly articulate thoughts, ideas, and information.
Highly detail oriented to maintain impeccable documentation throughout every phase of construction.
Position Overview (Lead): Our Lead Carpenter will be a skilled and productive belt-on carpenter, able to lead crews of carpenters in all phases of construction. Applicants must have a minimum of 3 years of construction experience.
Skills:
Gets work done fast, correctly, and safely, both alone and while leading a crew.
Can lead a crew effectively to gain and maintain their trust and accountability.
Can multi-task, sometimes leading two crews at once.
Able to take direction and contribute to solutions.
Understands a task at hand and executes to the end.
Has a full complement of tools of the trades including a vehicle and smartphone.
Physical fitness to lift and carry 60 pounds two flights of stairs, on ladders, planks, and scaffolds.
Reads and comprehends building plans and knows basic codes.
Produces clean paperwork and skilled at submitting progress reports.
Adept at verbal and written communication skills to clearly articulate thoughts, ideas, and information.
Highly detail oriented to maintain impeccable documentation throughout every phase of construction.
Can direct subcontractors on site as needed.
Qualifications: Our top candidates will have previous on-the-job experience, superior communication and interpersonal skills, a proven track record of successfully building construction projects on time and on budget and be skilled at using technology for planning and implementation.
Wages and Benefits: As a workers’ cooperative, pay will be commensurate with internal BBB pay scales designed to provide a fair wage for honest work in the local market. L&I worker injury insurance, wellness leave, and mileage reimbursement begin immediately. After a waiting period of 30-days, health insurance and paid vacation become available and in time, additional benefits including tool/education stipend, retirement, and profit sharing become available, based on time with the company, company performance, and ownership status.
