Mechanical Designer

About the Company:Leading medical device company located in greater Seattle area. Opportunity to join a tight-knit R&D team at a company known for their collaborative and innovative culture.

About the Role:The person in this position will be responsible for designing components and fixtures, and converting 2D drawings into 3D models.This position is mostly remote (due to COVID-19), but they are still only considering local candidates, as they may be required to come into the office on rare occasions.

Responsibilities Include:
  • Design components and sub assemblies of tools for the design, assembly and testing of device
  • Conduct technical investigations and analysis of components, applying a wide variety of mechanical design principles.
  • Prepare models and drawings by collecting input from other team members, consolidating design specifications, and making design recommendations for presentation and team review.
  • Interact with suppliers to ensure procurement of components needed for your projects.
  • Work with team members to release drawings and models into the document control system

Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of experience modeling components and creating drawings
  • Proficient in CREO
  • Able to create mechanical models in 3D CAD (specifically CREO) for complex devices, tools or fixtures
  • Applied knowledge of designing tools and fixtures for small components
  • Experience in the medical device industry highly preferred
