Job Title: Engineering Technician C (Melbourne, FL) Job Code: 16035 Job Location: Melbourne, FL Job Description: Responsible for performing a wide variety of electronic or electro-mechanical assembly and troubleshooting operations. Responsible for recording all work operations performed, recording tooling information and inputting other specifications into a computer-based program. Comprehends and interprets a variety of technical specifications, terms and documents. Follows methods and sequence of operations in performing wiring, component installation, hand soldering and cable harnessing on assembly units. Able to perform daily duties with minimal supervision. Essential Functions:

Design, analyze, modify, test and evaluate FPGA and programmable hardware

Design complex Circuit Card Assemblies to support Avionics and Space customer’s photonic subsystems and integrated communication systems

Digital Design requires programmable logic, VHDL language and digital communications systems knowledge

Analyze electrical requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints. Analyze equipment to establish operating data, conducts experimental tests and evaluates results

Design and modify tests to verify the operational state of various L3Harris products and accessories

Test, analyze, and evaluate the requirements compliance of L3 Harris hardware products

Utilize tools such as network analyzers and LabVIEW

Qualifications:

High School Diploma and 6+ years relevant professional experience required, OR, Associates degree and 2+ years of relevant professional experience.

3-4+ years’ experience assembling and troubleshooting electro-mechanical assemblies.

Experience interpreting blueprints, schematics, using power meters and signal generators, and soldering experience.

Preferred Additional Skills:

Experience with MS Office suite and related computer functions/applications.

Computer Technology: Microsoft Windows and Office products (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

RF Concepts: Power in Watts or dBM, and general RF propagation associated with antennas/receivers/transmitters

Cellular Protocols: GSM, CDMA, UMTS, LTE, 5G NR, etc.

Test Equipment: Base Station Emulators, Signal Generators, Spectrum Analyzers, Power Meters, Test Phones, Oscilloscopes, etc.

Computer Networking: Ethernet, Hubs, Routers, etc.
