Recruitment Description:

The City of Ellensburg has an opening for a Journey-level Lineperson. Will work as a member of the line crew and will construct, maintain, inspect and operate overhead and underground electrical distribution system, energized and de-energized. The work involves the performance of skilled tasks in accordance with standard trade practices and safety regulations.

This position will be on call on a rotation basis. Primary residence must be within 30 minutes of headquarters within 90 days of date of hire.

Salary: $47.65/hour plus benefits and a $10,000 moving bonus

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent; completion of three-year apprentice program and one-year experience at journey-level lineperson recognized by the City of Ellensburg and I.B.E.W 77. Must possess a valid State driver’s license including class A CDL with air brakes; First aid & CPR/AED card, Journeyperson Lineperson’s certification; have ability to obtain a Washington State flagging card. Recent training in pole top rescue, bucket rescue, vault rescue, confined space, and trenching & excavation.

The City of Ellensburg is required by federal regulation to administer a testing program for controlled substance and alcohol use for employees required to have and maintain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL). This position is covered under the City of Ellensburg Substance Abuse Testing Policy
