This position is part of the Filtration R&D located in central Massachusetts and will be on-site. Our vision is, to advance future therapeutics from discovery to delivery.What you'll do:
Contribute to research & design of new generation hollow fiber and flat sheet membranes.
With minimal supervision characterize hollow fiber and flat sheet membranes.
Contribute to development of test methods to characterize Cytiva membranes.
Participate in cross-functional teams on new product development, sustainability and problem-solving efforts.
Participate in continuous improvement activities by identifying and appropriately escalating process and quality gaps, providing solutions when possible.
Who you are:
Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering, material science, or polymer science; Ph.D. or MS will be considered.
5+ years industrial experience; MS 1+ year industrial experience; Ph.D. recent graduates will be considered.
Understanding of polymer chemistry, material science, and membrane science.
Problem-solving attitude and basic data analysis skills.
Proven interpersonal, documentation and communication skills.
It would be a plus if you also had previous experience with:
Experience in science of polymeric membranes.
Previous exposure to characterization of membranes with respect to separation characteristics, pore size, both in direct and/or tangential flow applications.
Understanding of structure vs function in general for membrane design and application, especially in biological separations.
