Other locations in the Entergy service territory may be consideredJob Summary/PurposeProvide management and oversight of Distribution Protection engineers who support Distribution Protection assets across Entergy’s entire service territory. Manage the team’s responsibilities for development and ongoing support of device coordination and settings, Self-Healing network schemes, substation automation, and associated capital projects. Provide 24/7 leadership support for equipment failures that require urgent settings development.Job Duties/Responsibilities
Provide safety leadership by exemplifying strong safety culture for others to follow.
Develop reporting and report performance in relation to metrics associated with Distribution Automation and Power Delivery.
Supervise and coordinate activities of staff, monitoring workload and prioritizing resources as needed to meet Power Delivery reliability initiatives and other associated program commitments and provide 24/7 engineering support for operations.
Provide oversight for development of coordination and settings for all 3PH devices and 1PH electronic protective devices on the Distribution system including integration of Distributed Generation (DG) and Distributed Energy Resources (DER).
Provide oversight for development of settings for all voltage regulators and capacitors, self-healing network devices, and reclosers on the Distribution system to support proper Power Quality and Conservation Voltage Reduction/Voltage Var Optimization initiatives.
Serves as the primary contact for the Grids, Distribution and Project Development for settings, configuration evaluations, and control system projects. Responds to proposals and estimates for studies, customer requests, maintenance, and potential projects. Serves as the technical expert in automation, settings, and control-related issues for the Distribution system. Provides technical assistance and guidance for field operations.
Not required but desired; experience with settings development of Distribution Automation relays and Substation relays.
During large storm events, perform a storm role of leading this team in providing real-time support of restoring Distribution Protection Assets.
Support Project Delivery Engineering, Relay Field Operations Support, Distribution Reliability, and Distribution Planning with coordination of feeder breakers, reclosers, and fuses.
Support PRC-006 and the Under Frequently Load Shed program.
